Dr Michael MacIsaac
BBiomed MD FRACP
Gastroenterologist

Michael MacIsaac is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist. He is currently the interventional endoscopy fellow at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and is completing a PhD with the University of Melbourne.  Michael consults privately at Central Melbourne Gastroenterology.

 

Michael graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2015 and received awards for excellence in research in his final year. He completed his physician and gastroenterology training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Health, before commencing his PhD through the University of Melbourne. The focus of his PhD is developing models of care for marginalised populations to access testing and treatment for hepatitis C. He has been awarded The Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver Disease Young Investigator Award for his research, and was a finalist for the Gastroenterological Society of Australia Young Investigator Award.

 

Michael is focused on delivering person-centred care and places great importance on clear communication with patients and GP’s. He welcomes referrals in all areas of gastroenterology, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, bowel cancer screening, iron deficiency anaemia, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.

All new patient appointments with our gastroenterologists and psychiatrists require a referral letter from a general practitioner or specialist.  Please forward the referral letter to our office and we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
