Central Melbourne Gastroenterology

Imogen Hartley is a Melbourne trained consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist. She practises privately at Central Melbourne Gastroenterology and holds a public appointment as an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellow at St Vincent’s Hospital.

After completing her medical degree at Deakin University, Imogen became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in gastroenterology. She undertook her specialist training at leading institutions, including St Vincent’s Hospital, Monash Hospital, and Western Health.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Imogen is a dedicated clinician researcher. She was awarded an NHMRC scholarship to complete a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospital. Her research focuses on optimising treatments for patients with perianal Crohn’s disease.

Imogen is passionate about providing person-centred care, ensuring that communication with patients and the medical team is clear, compassionate, and efficient.

As an experienced endoscopist, Imogen is accredited by the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) in both gastroenterology and colonoscopy. She welcomes referrals in all areas of gastroenterology, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, bowel cancer screening, iron deficiency anaemia, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.
